thank god this week is over! really, i am so happy. i am ready to eat real food again, and some variety. i am ready to have energy and be able to pay attention, and i am definitely looking forward to yoga again!!
yesterday's food:
1 piece of cornbread
1 orange
1 bowl of bean stuff
1 baby ruth
salad
butternut squash soup
amazing garlic bread (i actually detest garlic, but this stuff was amazing!)
some whoppers (the candy not the burger)
stephanie was nice enough to invite me over for dinner last night, it was delicious!! after dinner we watched Fast Food Nation, a movie about the fast food, meat packaging system in the US. It also touched on immigration, drug addiction, etc... It was a really enlightening movie, although rather disgusting. i almost gagged several times. movies like that really affect me and make me very thankful that i am already don't eat that stuff! the movie combined with my three week long discussion on mad cow disease was not a great combination!
also, stephanie showed me pictures that she had previously seen of weekly food expenditures around the world. it's pretty cool. i'm astounded by how much the german family spent, as well as how much coke the mexican family drank. its amazing to see how the prices vary as well as the size of the family and how much fresh food they buy as opposed to packaged.
today i ate:
1 orange
1 piece of cornbread (i just remembered there is one left, so make that two)
2 bowls of bean blah
i have to admit that i cheated a little today. i had to!! i put some cheese in the bean stuff, otherwise i wouldn't have been able to stomach it. i figure its okay though because i had $.12 to spare, and i didn't touch one of the cans of vegetables which was $.58...so i had a little wiggle room.
some results of this little experiment are that i got really tired of my food and i was so scared that i was going to run out that i avoided eating it, i lost 1 pound, my body fat % increased by 3 (not cool), i was really nauseous most of the time...um, yea... if i could do it again i would definitely stick to my normal staple of eggs, and i would probably have purchased more substantial grains like either oatmeal or rice (although plain oatmeal is no fun and i also really don't like rice).
MDG 7 is ensure environmental sustainability and MDG 8 is develop a global partnership for development. the last one is so crucial. lots of countries contribute a lot financially to this cause, but it would be so great if these countries could create a strong alliance that communicated and worked together!!
