...will be four days since I got in a tub.
Snow days are also good at providing an excuse not to shower. I've literally been stuck in my house for days and interacting with nobody besides my neighbor, who revealed to me she also went most of the days without getting wet.
Everyone knows I wash my hair every three days; it's even become a guessing game to a lot of people. It amuses me, really. However, I wouldn't normally admit to the entire world that I haven't bathed in days, but this NY Times article was mentioned in a blog I follow and thought it'd be a perfect excuse to share my dirty secret and convert you into shower-lessers. I made that up, in case you couldn't figure it out. Basically, it says that western culture is obsessed with being so fresh and so clean (and smelling like a beautiful spring day) and we have no reason to shower so often (we have cars to get us places without getting sweaty, we aren't farmers, we work in offices all day), but shower more than we ever have.
I kind of have a love/hate relationship with showers. But I'd say it's carefully working it's way to being full on hate. Baths on the other hand... I've gotten really good at not showering on weekends, which is nice. But I've been running about 25 miles a week these days and lifting weights and visiting the sauna, so I think I have a pretty good excuse... especially since my lymph system has decided to work for the first time, maybe, ever.
Borderline TMI? I think so...

I completely agree we shower too much. My skin and hair get so dry when I shower every day. I hate that! So glad someone agrees. :)
