let the yellow stay mellow

today was beautiful, it really really was. while Obama's speech was great, the event itself spoke volumes. Obama didn't even need to open his mouth. i watched the inauguration crammed in the campus movie theatre with hundreds of other people. it was so great to have the room erupt in applause and cheers and have people standing in unison and taking pictures of the event. everyone was so genuinely happy. i was especially moved by the tears and smiles of people in DC.

but, i just saw something that made me really furious. Levi's has an ad on the internet right now that says, "Celebrate our 44th President with 44% off." Is that really necessary? don't get me wrong, i love a good sale just as much as the next person, but why does today have to be about saving money on jeans?

Eh, stores capitalize on everything these days. Maybe it's just something I can't make myself care about (no excess energy left for it, perhaps).

But I can care about my new president!!! Pulling up the NY Times homepage today and seeing him in the Oval Office getting to work was absolutely amazing.
